EN This performative act is based on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Manual of Psychomagic, a workbook to heal the unconscious mind through symbolic acts. The Psychomagic is a healing method based on artistic experience, the knowledge of Freud and Jung and the traditional healing arts of shamanism. In the Psychomagic, we find the secret of most of the problems that plague the human subconscious, where art has a fundamental role in healing. The creative act can reprogram our subconscious to repair a problem through the Act of Psychomagic that uses symbols and archetypes. Because subconscious is not able to distinguish between an actual act and an interpretation, a ritual or a symbolic act.
Here is a selection of photographs taken during an act of Psychomagic recommended by Jodorowsky to overcome the fear of dying. Death, burial, letters of farewell from friends and relatives, everything is recreated for the confrontation to that terrible fear.
